We all have plenty of reasons to live worried and stressed, trying to fix our lives in our own strength. That’s overwhelming. The Lenten desert invites us to come back to a place of peace.

Lent calls us to stop depending on our own efforts and abilities. That constant striving for control drains our energy, but when we start depending on God, we feel the load lift off.
Our Heavenly Father knows all our needs. He knows what we’re facing. He knows the dreams placed in our hearts.
He sees the struggles, the unfair situations, and our disadvantages.
We don’t have to do life alone, trying to make up for our shortcomings or striving to accomplish our dreams:
God has us in the palms of His hands.

He hasn’t let go of anyone. Yet if we want to feel God’s strength and experience his favour, we must put him first and abide in him.
There is only as much we can do in our own efforts, so let us do what we can and leave the rest up to God.

I* pray:

Father, thank You that I do not have to keep being trapped in worry about things over which I have no control.

Thank You for providing me with exactly what I need when I need it.

I choose to rest and be at peace, knowing You will work it for my good.
