Thank You from Women of Faith

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all in the Pastoral Area for your support, prayers, and encouragement for our gathering on Nov 8th, ‘Confessions of a lonely soul’. It was great to see such a turn. The contributions from our speakers—Laura Wood of East Coast FM, Anne Dempsey, journalist, and Mila Hancock, entrepreneur—were exceptional. Each offered a deeply personal reflection on their faith, what it means to live as a Catholic in today’s world and the importance of November for remembering people we love. Their insights resonated with attendees and added a rich, genuine element to the event.

Whether you volunteered your time or simply joined us on the morning, your contribution made a difference. We especially appreciate the help and support given to us by the TY media group from St. Davids School, Louise O’ Sullivan and Marc McMenamin.

The podcast of the gathering will be available in the coming weeks.

An event not to be missed! Registration details below.

A litte more about this event…

In Catholic tradition, November is set aside as a month to remember loved ones who have passed away. This November, the Women of Faith breakfast gathering offers the wider ecumenical community a unique opportunity to reflect on the preciousness of life, our own mortality, and how God, spiritual growth and reconnection are linked.

The gathering aims to transform November’s remembrance from a time of sorrow and loneliness into a space for spiritual renewal and communal support.

Guest speakers are: Laura Wood experienced TV and radio presenter working with Eastcoast Radio on the morning show ‘Freshly Squeezed’; Anne Dempsey journalist, trainer and counsellor and Mila Hancock entrepreneur, ‘people of the year’ recipient, community and cultural activist originally from Goa, India.

These speakers combined will look at the emotional landscape experienced by many at this time of the year and reflect on how faith has carried them through challenging times in their own life. Through conversations and shared experiences, the Women of Faith Gathering, invites attendees to look at faith as a source of comfort, to find connection with others in their community and discover a deeper sense of faith, hope and belonging in their lives.

There will also be an opportunity to follow tradition by ‘lighting a candle’ remembering loved ones both past and present.
