Sacramental Preparation Programme Registration for 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians, We are delighted to accompany you and your child/children on your journey to the celebration of the Sacrament of First Holy Communion or Confirmation in the Pastoral Area of Greystones and Kilquade in 2025.

Please complete this form to register your child/children for the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation in 2025.

Registration is per family, so if you are registering one or more children for one or both sacraments, you complete only one registration form.

Note: You can register up to four children using this form. If you need to register more than four children, please firstly use this form to provide the details of four of your children. Then, contact us at sacramentalceremonies@gkpastoralarea.ie with details of your other children. We will capture the remaining details.

Once registration has been successfully completed you will receive an email notification to confirm this with your relevant details. Please keep an eye out for this email and check your junk/spam folders if you cannot find it. If you do not receive an email after 24 hours, please contact us at sacramentalceremonies@gkpastoralarea.ie.

We are delighted to welcome you to this next stage of your child's faith journey as they prepare to celebrate the Sacraments of First Holy Communion or Confirmation.

The Christian home is our first Church and you, as your child’s first and best teacher, play a significant role in preparing them.

It is through you that your child learns to believe in God. We are here to support you in communicating Christian belief to your child and to guide you during this time of sacramental preparation.

Throughout this preparation time, we will invite you to information meetings, family faith gatherings, faith development opportunities, and to engage with resources on our website and of course the sacramental celebrations.

We look forward to your active involvement in our weekly gatherings through the Family Mass at 10am in St. Anthony’s Church, Kilcoole, and encourage you to commit to creating a vibrant, supportive, and present community.

A vibrant faith community is possible through the involvement of people like you. Your involvement enhances your child’s faith experience and influences the spiritual life of the entire community.

Becoming involved with your local Faith Community is usually a beginning of a life-changing adventure. We ask you to respond to the times we look for help. Come as you are, bring your skills, time, and talents, and let us build God’s kingdom on earth together!

We are delighted that you have decided to join the sacramental journey with your family and to register your child/children for our preparation programme.

Please note that in the registration, we will be asking you to provide details of your child’s baptism.

If your child was baptised within the Parishes of Greystones or Kilquade, we will need the date and location of the sacrament.
Please make sure that you submit the correct details.

If your child was baptised outside the Parishes of Greystones or Kilquade, you will need to upload your child’s baptismal certificate.
Please make sure you have at hand the electronic version of the document before you begin the registration process.

Your child needs to be baptised before they receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion or Confirmation.

The Sacrament of First Holy Communion and Confirmation are available to children Baptised in the Roman Catholic tradition.
We need evidence of Baptism as part of the registration process.
For any child baptised within the parishes of Greystones or Kilquade, the exact date and church of baptism will be sufficient.
For those baptised outside of these parishes, a baptism certificate from the appropriate parish is required.

Please give the name and location of the Church in which your child was baptised.
You will need to provide a copy of your child's baptismal certificate by the end of November. You can get a copy from the church where the baptism took place.

This is the person who will receive information about meetings, Masses and other events by email or text.

The information you supplied will be used during this year of preparation for the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation to keep you informed about the Sacramental Preparation Programme and other parish based events in relation to faith and faith development.

In addition we would like to use your contact details occasionally after the celebration of the sacrament in question to keep you in touch with events appropriate to ongoing Faith Development. You can opt out of such contact after the celebration of the Sacrament if you so wish.
