The Pastoral Area Liturgy Group supports the Priests of Greystones and Kilquade in the preparation of liturgies to celebrate key milestones in the liturgical year. We are looking for new members for the coming year.
We are a small group of people, seeking to be
· representative of the faith communities in each of the Churches in the pastoral area
· collaborative, open and inclusive in the development and sharing of resources which can be used by all
· supportive of the faith life of our Pastoral Area through liturgies that reflect and deepen lay participation in Church celebrations
· exemplars of the co-responsibility of all the baptised in the mission of the Church.
Our annual calendar creates many opportunities to contribute ideas, prayers, music, reflections and artwork as we focus on Advent, the Christmas season, Holy Week, Eastertide, Pentecost, Harvest, Remembrance…. In all we do, we work closely with the Parish Priest/Leadership Team, with a real sense of purpose and fulfilment as our recommendations come to fruition across the liturgical year.
We meet regularly from September to the following May (each month to six weeks), with occasional additional meetings of members available to undertake detailed work for specific events (the “Beavers Group”).
We are looking for new members for the coming year. Would you like to be a member of the Pastoral Area Liturgy Group? Can you bring the concerns and interests of different parts of the Pastoral Area to the wider Group?
If you would you like to talk to us about what we do and what you would like to contribute, please leave your name and contact details in the Pastoral Area Office and we will invite you to an informal meeting of the Group.
We look forward to hearing from you and welcome your ideas, input and enthusiasm!
