The Novena to the Holy Spirit takes place from the 1st to the 9th of June.
Let us join the Dublin Diocese in praying this novena, for the renewal of the Church in the Archdiocese of Dublin, and all over the country.
This annual diocesan Novena will begin in all parishes on Sunday, June 1, the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. All are warmly invited to join with their parish/partnership in prayer. It will be a period of Prayer, and also of Reflection and Planning as we prepare for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. The Novena period will conclude on Monday, June 9, the Feast of St Columba (St Colmcille), one of the three patron saints of Ireland.
Attached are suggested Speaker Notes for use on June 1 by a PPC member / lay leader to welcome and encourage participation in this important moment across the diocese as we join together in prayer as one missionary People of God. Additionally, at this time, parish leadership is encouraged to gather to pray and reflect together, and to begin to plan for the pastoral year ahead.
A Pastoral Aid will be provided to support and guide this conversation. The Novena Prayer Card will arrive in parishes early next week.
On Monday, May 26, in conjunction with the Novena, you are invited to gather at 8pm in The Pedro Arrupe Chapel at the Manresa Jesuit Centre for Spirituality, Clontarf Road, D03 FP52, for prayer drawn from the Novena Prayer Booklet with music from the Dublin Diocesan Music Group.
