At the time of their reassignment from this Pastoral Area, (just over a year ago) both Fr. John Daly and Fr. Gerard Tyrrell expressed the wish not to have a public event to mark this transition. In respecting their wishes, this was observed. The Parish Pastoral Council always wished to acknowledge, in a private capacity, the contribution of both Fr. John Daly and Fr. Gerard Tyrrell to the Pastoral Area of Greystones and Kilquade. This is underway.
Understandably, around the time of their departure, many parishioners also expressed the wish to acknowledge the work and commitment by Fr. John and Fr. Gerard and may have done so privately already. The PPC now wish to offer this opportunity to parishioners, if they so wish, to contribute to a collection for each of them.
You are invited to give an envelope, with the priest’s name on it, into the Parish office, to one of the sacristans or to one of our priests. Proceeds will go to directly to the priest named on the envelope (and remain unopened) or if not specifically nominated, proceeds will be split as a gift between each of them.
