Redford Action Committee

The committee was organised by members of the Greystones parish in 2002, with the purpose of improving and enhancing the aesthetic appearance of the cemetery.

Through ongoing funding raising efforts and donations, The Action Committee has been able to accomplish the following over the years:

  • Routine and regular grass moving and edge trimming; provide water hoses and cans for flower watering, and the general upkeep of the grave paths, etc., by volunteer efforts and by paying dedicated grounds personnel.
  • Erect a new main entrance and side gate, due to the kind donation of the late Monsignor Paddy Wallace. PP, Holy Rosary Church.
  • Complete the Calvary Area including the beautiful granite altar.
  • Assist a group of families in the donation and instillation of a granite bench, in memory of their loved ones.
  • Provide assistance and organisation for the annual Mass and blessing of the graves in the cemetery. Donations received at these two events are the major sources of funding raising events

Annual Mass

Mass at the Calvary Area in the Cemetery is normally held on the last Friday of July at 8pm. If there is inclement weather then Mass is held in St. Kilian’s Church, Blacklion.

Blessing of the Graves

This is held on the first Sunday in November at 3pm.
