In honour of the feast of St. Francis, we celebrated the Blessing of Animals on Sunday 3rd October at 3pm in the grounds of The Holy Rosary Church Greystones.
We had a special guest present – Peter O’Neill, a Vet in our faith community, who talked a little about the care and comfort an animal can bring to its owner.
All creatures great and small were invited to attend, but the canines were out in force with their 2 legged minders!
A lovely afternoon was had by all.
Many people bring their pets to the church to be blessed on or near St. Francis’ feast day because of his love for animals as expressed in his Canticle of Creatures.
