In this spirit, we hope you and your child/family members will consider giving a hand so that our Sunday Family Mass will continue to run smoothly.

We welcome all help. Come as a family or as an individual.

Every element will be organised on a rota basis – this will probably be once a month, depending on the number of people who come forward to help.

Training will be provided for most areas. The commitment of time required is indicated below.

Meet & Greet Welcome Team
Welcome people at the Church door at the Sunday Family Mass with a smile and hand out the missalettes. Arrive 15 minutes before Mass starts.
Eucharist Minister
Distribute Holy Communion at Mass.
Altar Server
Serve at Sunday Mass by supporting the priest in the procession, presenting the gifts, and ringing the bells. A parent is to be present. Arrive 15 minutes before Mass starts.
Training will be available before the Family Mass in October.
Reader (Minister of the Word)
Read the Welcome message, Sunday readings, Prayer of the Faithful and Church announcements at Mass.
Music
Lead the congregation in song at mass with a group or sing as a member of the congregation encouraging others to sing.
Practise 20 minutes before Mass starts.
Colouring Table
Organise the colouring table, hand out colouring sheets, pare pencils, help tidy up. Arrive 10 minutes before Mass.
Presenting of the Gifts
Present the Offertory Gifts to the priest at Mass.
Slides and Camera
Assist with the Audio-Visual elements of the Mass. Progress PowerPoint slides and/or change camera angles. Arrive 15 minutes before Mass.
Hospitality
Set up, organise and serve the Teas & Coffees at the end of Mass and tidy up afterwards.
Arrive 20 minutes before Mass starts for setup and/or stay 10 minutes after for tidy up.
Church Cleaning
Clean the interior of the church for approx. 60-90 minutes.
Library
Promote the use of the children’s spiritual library. Move it into view before mass. Encourage families to borrow a book. Keep shelves stocked and tidy. Arrive 10 minutes before Mass.
Collectors
Distribute and gather up the collection baskets and leave them on the altar.
