This Sunday, the 26th of July, the Church celebrates Grandparents and the Elderly in society. Let us remember our older relatives and friends, and reach out to them in a special way today. Prayer cards available.
The Sunday closest to the Feast of Ss Joachim and Anne has been designated World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly. This year that Sunday falls on July 26. The National Pilgrimage of the Catholic Grandparents Association takes place that day in Knock.
“I will never forget you” (Is 49:15) is the theme chosen by Pope Leo XIV for the Sixth World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, which seeks to emphasize how God’s love for every person is never lacking, even in the fragility of old age.
