Good Shepherd Sunday – Vocations Sunday, 11th May 2025 –
“A vocation is a precious gift that God sows in our heart, a call to leave ourselves behind and embark on a journey of love and service.” – Pope Francis, World Day of Prayer for Vocations 2025
As we journey through the Jubilee Year of Hope, we are invited to reflect on how God continues to call each of us to bring light and hope to the world. As Pope Francis RIP tells us: “There is no vocation without mission.”
We give thanks that, in the Archdiocese of Dublin, there are three seminarians, as well as a greater number discerning the priesthood. Their “yes” to God’s call is a sign of great hope for our Church and our communities.
Let us pray for them, and for all those considering a vocation to the priesthood, religious life, or lay ministry that they may hear and respond to God’s call. May this Good Shepherd Sunday be a moment of encouragement and support for vocations to flourish among us.

If you know of anyone who has an interest in the priesthood, please invite them to contact the vocations team, Fr Séamus or Fr Bill at vocations@dublindiocese.ie or bill.oshaughnessy@dublindiocese.ie.
