Notices

Every year the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord is celebrated on the 2nd of February. This is 40 days after the Nativity of the Lord (Christmas), and officially marks the end of the Christmas season.

It is also known as Candlemas. As Christ is known as “the Light of the World,” Candlemas is observed by the blessing of candles, both liturgical and personal ones. These candles serve as a symbol of Christ.

The Blessing of Candles will take place on 2nd February at all Masses.

There will be morning Mass as follows:

  • 10am in The Holy Rosary Church,
  • 10am in St Anthony’s Church and
  • 11.30am in St. Joseph’s Church

The Blessing of Candles will take place at all Masses. You are invited to bring your own candle and to hold it for the blessing.
