Invitation to join the Pastoral Area Ministry Team arranging Flowers for the Altar
You are invited to consider joining the ministry team who prepare the Flowers for the Altar in The Holy Rosary Church Greystones and St. Kilian’s Church, Blacklion. Having a team in situ will allow for members to operate on a rota basis. Your creative talents are welcome and guidance will be given.
Invitation to join the Pastoral Area Ministry Team writing Prayer of the Faithful
You are invited to consider joining the ministry team who prepare the Prayer of the Faithful for Masses each Sunday, and Holy Day, in the Pastoral Area Greystones and Kilquade.
The prayer of the Faithful is prayed at Mass as a response by those gathered, the faithful, to what they have heard through the proclamation of the Word and the opening of it through the Homily.
Each week, on a rota basis, a member of the team writes the intercessions using a template. The prayers are based on the scriptural readings for the day and on matters of current concern. Writing takes approximately one hour, at a time and location that suits you. There is access to excellent resources available on-line relating to the forthcoming weekend which aid in preparing an appropriate wording. Guidance will be given by the existing team.

Invitation to join the Pastoral Area Ministry Team Supporting the Slide Presentations at Masses
You are invited to consider joining the ministry team who progress the slides used in St. Anthony’s Church, Kilcoole and The Holy Rosary Church, Greystones for Saturday evening (6pm) or Sunday Masses (10am, 11.30am 6.30pm) and at seasonal liturgies throughout the year.
Slides are prepared each week by members of the Pastoral Team. These slides display the order of the liturgy, the responses and hymns to encourage engagement from the congregation and church announcements. On occasion, slides are used to support the homily or other initiatives.
Members of the congregation have expressed the benefits of having the slides at Masses as it supports their participation in the mass. Growing this team will allow a consistent support of these 4 masses each weekend and facilitate a rota where the commitment for all on the team is small but the impact for all community is great. The commitment is for Mass time and 30 minutes beforehand.
Invitation to join the Pastoral Area Ministry Team Supporting Funerals
You are invited to consider joining the ministry team who will support the bereaved, our sisters and brothers in the Pastoral Area Greystones and Kilquade, in their hour of pain and loss. This is a very important pastoral outreach which accompanies families through the various stages of bereavement in their homes, in funeral homes, as well as in church.
The Funeral Ministry offers support for the bereaved, collaboration in the prayerful preparation and celebration of the funeral, and a presence at the cemetery or crematorium.
Ministering to the bereaved has to do with how we understand who and what we are: how we reach out to others, how we are present with and for our neighbour (see Luke 10:36–37), and how we stand alongside each other in the face of death (see Romans 14:8–9). (November Diocesan Letter +Dermot Farrell Archbishop of Dublin). You are invited to consider this ministry, where you will be guided in your discernment of it and supported with appropriate training and development.
Will you respond to an invitation?
