Why not consider having your own Sunday Missal? It serves as a comprehensive guide to the liturgy, providing the readings, prayers, and responses and supports your participation in the Sunday Mass.
This can lead to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Mass, fostering a more meaningful and engaged experience.
This Redemptorist Missal has a leatherette cover, gold-embossed lettering, colourful ribbons and high-quality Bible paper which means that it should become a treasured companion for a lifetime. The texts for all Sunday services in the Roman Catholic Church for the three-year cycle are included in this Missal. Alongside these are a number of additional resources, including the two Eucharistic Prayers for reconciliation, and four for Masses for various occasions. The main ordinary texts of the Mass are also given in Latin. Additionally, we have provided an original prayer for each day of the week, a selection of litanies and prayers by St Alphonsus Liguori including his Stations of the Cross.
Available in the parish office (open Monday to Friday from 9.30am-12.30pm), for a cost of €15. Orders by phone are also welcome – 01 2874025. Arrangements can be made for collection in your local church.
Here’s a more detailed look at the advantages:
• Full Participation:
A missal allows individuals to follow along with the priest, actively participating in the Mass by knowing the readings, prayers, and responses.
• Deeper Understanding:
By having the text readily available, individuals can reflect on the readings and prayers, gaining a more profound understanding of the Mass’s meaning and significance.
• Personal Reflection:
Missals often include reflections or meditations on the readings, encouraging personal prayer and contemplation.
• Year-Round Companion:
A Sunday Missal, like the one offered by Redemptorist Publications, is designed to be a companion throughout the liturgical year, providing the appropriate texts for each Sunday’s Mass.
