Bread is mentioned about 500 times throughout the Old and New Testament.

Baking and breaking bread may be a beautiful way for a Family to celebrate Sunday togetherness. Nourished at Jesus’s table, every Sunday, we return home to recognise our Family Table as an extension of the altar. We experience the power of companionship at home as we gather around the table to share our love and presence over a meal.

Bread is mentioned about 500 times throughout the Old and New Testaments. In the Lord’s Prayer, we ask God, our Good, Good Father, to give us each day our daily bread. Breaking bread is the beginning of COMPANIONSHIP.

As we share this simple bread recipe with you, we encourage you to reflect with your families on the importance of gatherings around the table and the significance of sharing bread.

If you bake the bread burdened with loneliness, turn the process into a prayer for having a community to share your bread with.
